This model has a self-winding mechanical movement manufactured in 18 ct rose gold. IT IS BUILT ON THE BASIS OF THE EXCLUSIVE OCTA CALIBER 1300.3 WHICH IS ESTABLISHED as the first automatic movement with sufficient power reserve to ensure chronometric precision for more than of 5 days or 120 h (effective power reserve of 160 h ± 10 h). It is wound uni-directionally by the EXCLUSIVE F.P.JOURNE OFF-CENTER rotor IN 5N 22 CT GOLD. THANKS TO A SELF-LOCKING BALL BEARING SYSTEM PROVIDING UNPARALLELED EFFICIENCY. THUS EACH MOVEMENT, NO MATTER AS IT IS, IS EXPLOITED TO THE MAXIMUM FOR OPTIMIZED WINDING OF THE WATCH. The variable inertia balance ensures optimum performance with impeccable stability.

The new Automatic Lune is a perfect combination of a subtle balance of proportions and aesthetic refinement, with an even larger date (4.7 x 2.6 mm) and an equally enlarged sapphire moon with a domed border for optimal readability. The elegant silver clou de Paris guilloché dial displays blue numerals in harmony with the blued steel “drop” hands as well as the retrograde power reserve indication on a 120-hour scale. The characteristic knurled silk cord crown has been enlarged to perfect the balance of the case.

The moon phase complication takes us to the stars and reminds us of ancient times when we had to wait for the full moon to travel at night. Although today we no longer pay much attention to the movements of this mythical star, the indication of the moon phases remains one of the most poetic watchmaking complications and gives an alternative perspective of the passage of time.
